Saskatoon, SK –– Symmetry Public Relations launches a new and innovative service for its clients: the brand rollback. This service launches just in time as companies are thinking globally about their own identity at the beginning of a new fiscal year.
“It’s the beginning our new fiscal year and I know it is for some others too. Brands are thinking about who they are – and whether their brand is resonating with the people they serve,” says Ben Borne, President & COO of Symmetry.
This particular service is aimed at those who want to walk back a brand rollout like it never happened.
“We just launched our re-brand that we’ve spent months working on and its been a wild success. Others who have just launched their brand might be thinking about walking it back – this service is for them,” says Melody Lynch, Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of Symmetry.
Borne says that the brand rollback process is complex, but Symmetry is ready to make it simple – starting with your why.
“It really all starts at the beginning…examining your why…why did you do this to yourself?'” he questions. “From there we move into the ‘CTRL+Z’ phase – looking at what went sideways with the rollout and really undoing it from there.”
Symmetry has brought in young team members to help with the brand rollback process – gleaning insights from them on the best way to frame the rollback through messaging.
“We have an excellent new Communications Coordinator Matthew, and our intern Beta – they bring a Gen Z lens to this process,” says Lynch. “They’ve helped us realize that the key to a brand rollback is to frame it as an effort to lean into nostalgia – to re-live the glory days gone by.”
The implementation is a hands on process with the entire symmetry team. On a high level, Symmetry’s senior consultants will work directly with your team to lay the road map for the rollback – retracing the rollout steps and walking it back.
The junior team members will be assigned to dumpster diving and dusting off your old signage and collaterals that were likely tossed all too quickly.
The rollback process is capped off with a half day media training session which includes a session on key message development and on-camera practice.
“A hands on approach is how we do business at Symmetry. From the planning phase to the rollout – err, rollback – we got your back!” Borne says.
